How long you been in business?
What made you want to set up your business?
I’ve always loved being creative and have always had a love for flowers. I worked in a shop for a number of years and loved provided beautiful flowers for wedding couples. One day it hit me, this is what I want to do for a living, I want to make someone’s wedding day shine with stunning flowers and it is the best feeling!
What’s the best part of your job?
There are so many parts of which I love my job, but one of the best parts is the morning of the wedding. When I get to deliver the very special bridal bouquet, its such a fun and exciting atmosphere walking into bridal party. The reaction from the bride towards their bridal bouquet is priceless and gives me the best feeling, making the early morning starts so worth it.
What’s the weirdest request you’ve ever had from a client?
I wouldn’t say I have had weird requests but are also happy to include personal touches in wedding flowers such as home made paper flowers, Deer Horns found on the family farm and buttonholes with Gun Cartridges.
What’s been your favourite ever wedding you’ve worked on/at?
Well that is such a hard question! There are so many amazing weddings and every single one is different from the last!
One that sticks out to me is a Sun Flower Wedding at The Norfolk Mead in 2019. Sun Flowers are beautiful flowers and make everyone smile. The Sunflowers were HUGE which made the bridal bouquet breath-taking and I have always said the bigger the better for a bridal bouquet, the star of the show!
You’re surrounded by beauty in your job. What do you find beautiful?
All Flowers are beautiful in their own way, from starting as a bud flower to blooming at the end. I love seeing wedding flowers come together after planning them with my couples for several months or even over a year. Seeing your creations and designs in place from paper is magical!
Best piece of advice to offer to those getting married
My Top Tips are: Remember you are the ones getting married, and you should listen to your heart and choose what you want for your special day. Remember its your big day!
Anyone you particularly admire in the industry?
There are so many suppliers and other florists who inspire me to create new designs. It is very inspiring to see all different wedding suppliers spreading their wings and doing what they do best! I work along aside some amazing suppliers!
Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Believe in yourself, which can be a very hard thing to do, but I am so proud of where I am now and couldn’t have done this self believe.
Another great advise is never be afraid to ask for help, whether that be help with delivering from the family or for someone to check your email being sending.
You – lets have some fun
Where do you call home?
I am based in Norwich and have lived there for over 8 years now.
There are so many great shops in Norwich but I love Lisa Angles, so many pretty things and also doesn’t love a small plant shop in the market place or a cute coffee shop hidden in a corner of Norwich city centre.
Me and my friends LOVE Waga-mamas!
You can’t beat a classical Disney Film
Cocktail/Drink of Choice?
I don’t drink that offend but I love a Long Island Iced Tea Cocktail
What super hero would you like to be and why?
I think it would be amazing to fly, so maybe super Women with a hint go flower power!
Do you collect anything?
I collect the special 50p such as Peter Rabbit
Where do you go to let your hair down?
I play hockey every week and love being part of a team sport. And who doesn’t love to dance with their friends!
Thank you Hannah for being so open and letting us get to know you better. I can’t wait to photograph your flowers at the next wedding we work together at.
