This month on the suppliers spotlight is the amazing Floral Sistas. I have followed these girls for years and was over the moon when I got to work with them last year. Their flowers never disappoint and always look so amazing.

I’m totally delighted to introduce Floral Sistas so that they can tell you a little bit more about them ….

‘When women support each other incredible things happen’
The Floral Sistas, Michelle, Megan, Oonah, Natalie and Clare – sisters, mums, daughters, aunties and great friends coming together to bring a creative sisterhood with a love for all things floral!
Formally Swaffham and Fakenham Florist – after having our shop in Swaffham for more than 12 years we have decided to move with our passion and focus on weddings, events and workshops with our new floral studio. We are really excited about our change as it will give us the opportunity to grown further in the wedding & event industry and increase the number of workshops we hold throughout the year.

Your business

How long you been in business?

12.5 years starting as Swaffham Florist and now rebranding to Floral Sistas

What’s the best part of your job?

Forming relationships with our clients and then seeing them at other weddings, events etc. We have clients that we have done wedding flowers for and then we have done their brothers or sisters, their friends etc and it goes from there, we also love it when our past clients attend our workshops or we are asked to do a workshop as a surprise for a baby shower of a past bride.

What’s the worst part of your job?

Aside from dirty buckets and smelly water a lot of people see floristry as a lovely pretty job but thats actually only as small part of it, we have so much paper work to keep on top of and thats probably the worst part!

What’s the weirdest request you’ve ever had from a client?

We were once asked to make a Dragon as a funeral tribute by a client for their great aunt – it was a private joke between them but we did it!

What’s been your favourite ever wedding you’ve worked on/at?

Oh gosh – this is a tough one! We have so many that have stood out for various reasons, we couldn’t possibly say, but if we had to give an answer it would probably be our Megans and also our younger sister Maries as it meant we had full free reign on creativity and design.

You’re surrounded by beauty in your job. What do you find beautiful?

We love it when we are trusted to design for a client, quite often the most beautiful bouquets or wedding set-ups are from those that have said, this is my colour pallet and style I like – go for it!

Best piece of advice to offer to those getting married-

trust your suppliers and get booked in early if you know you wish to work with certain suppliers!

Anyone you particularly admire in the industry?

We have to of course say our girl Penny at The Little Lending Company she has such an eye for detail and is always coming up with new and innovative concepts that leads a lot of our designs.

I think Megan and I would both say home is always our parents house! We are a very close family and will always think of this as home.

Favourite restaurant?

We both love our food and probably have a list thats too long but one we would both agree on and is local to us would be The White Horse Brancaster Staithe – its amazing and has the best afternoon tea around!

What super hero would you like to be and why?

Neither of us have a favourite super hero but during this uncertain time we have the upmost respect for the super heros of the NHS and key workers.

other than probably too many clothes – nope!

What’s the most romantic thing someone’s ever done for you?

For both Megan and I we would both say our proposal stories, Megan was proposed to in her cottage on Christmas Day and Michelle was surprised on St.Patrick Days at Cliveden House.

Where do you go to let your hair down?
Megan and I are both super lucky to have a close group of girlfriends including Natalie who works with us and we often all get together to let our hair down, we love house parties together, often in our PJ’s or Cambridge for cocktails is a favourite.

at the moment we would love to see the world return back to normal but keep the kindness that the community has been showing the last few weeks.
