Winter wedding at Seckford Hall, Suffolk with Ben & Kirsty
When I think winter wedding, I think of a cold crisp morning, with a dark gloomy day looming everyone cuddled up in coats and umbrellas ready. But Saturday's wedding day at Seckford Hall was not like this. It was warm and sunny throughout the morning it wasn't till late in the evening when the fog came down.
I first met Ben and Kirsty at The Little Green Barn wedding show in October 2021, I spotted their twins, Rupert and Felix. They were full of smiles and I couldn't help but wave and talk to them.
Soon after the wedding show we chatted and I was so happy when they said they wanted to book me. Their wedding day sounded amazing and just what I love to capture.
How did Kirsty & Ben meet?
They both knew of each other from school age - Kirsty had been friends with Reece (Best Man) from 6th form and worked together during our early 20s. Reece and Ben have been friends since high school. Reece played middleman and tried to set us up but Kirsty ignored the attempts of the set up and was too chicken to meet Ben and go on a date. Ben then tried again several months later by wishing me a happy 30th birthday and we got chatting Ben finally wore Kirsty down and she agreed to a date and never looked back from then.
Who proposed to who?
They were on their first family holiday in September 2021. Went for a lovely walk and stopped at a beach on the way home. Kirsty went to paddle in the sea whilst Ben was playing on the beach with the boys. When Kirsty came back Rupert had a bib saying 'Mummy Felix has something to ask you', Felix had a bib saying 'Not me, daddy does' and Ben was kneeling behind me with a beautiful ring. Ben never (and still to this day) never asked Kirsty to marry him as both the boys were crying and upset. It was perfectly imperfect.
But their wedding day was perfect! Rupert and Felix were happy as can be.

Try not to listen to other people think you should do. Take opinions on board and listen to advice that suits you but remember its your day and not others
