Forest Lodge Weddings and FireFly Tipis have collaborated to create the ultimate woodland wedding venue, which Paul and Rachael loved.
They wanted something different and something with a relaxed vibe and not formal. They are not religious so didn't want to get married in a church and wanted the ceremony and reception to be at the same place.
They wanted a big celebration outside with all their family and friends. After a very tricky two years, these two needed to celebrate! They had to move their wedding day twice, Paul got cancer and of course, Covid hit. Paul is doing amazing after his treatment and it was fantastic to be able to celebrate with them all.
Their wedding day was beautiful! From the flowers to the comfy shoes and the soundings. Paul is an Ipswich Town supporter so we had to have blue in there, but we didn't want it all just blue and white which is why they got some purple and orange in there as well.
Paul and Rachael have been together for 15 years and first met at Brazilias, the local nightclub in Bury St Edmunds. It's where everyone use to go back in the day. It's now been knocked down and flats sit in its place. Paul knew a friend of Rachael's and that's how they got talking.
Paul proposed. They were hosting a family Hawaiian-themed bbq for a joint birthday celebration for Paul and his niece Makayla. Their son Reggie was 6 months old and Paul took him to change his nappy and when he came back Reggie was wearing a baby vest and on it was printed 'Mummy will you marry my Daddy'! - awww so mega cute right?!!
Their wedding day was emotional, Rachael had a few happy tears, shh I did too .. (such a soppy sod) The wedding ceremony was delayed by the rain and a few guests getting lost lol but it was beautiful. They had bubbles, fish and chips and lots of laughs. A truly magical day.
